Karl Vossler's Frankreichs Kultur und Sprache, as published in 1929, has now appeared for the first time in a French trans., Langue et culture de La France, Payot. The rev d. 2nd ed. of A. Dauzat's L' Europe linguistique, Payot, gives modified statistics and other data bringing it up to date in relation to the ed. of 1940 (rev. J. Marouzeau, FM, xxi, 141-3, and J. Herbillon, DBR, x, 136-41). A reprint of the 3rd (1936) ed. of F. Brunot's La pensee et La langue is now avail able with a somewhat modified index. An enlarged 5th ed. of M. Grevisse, Le bon usage. Cours de grammaire franfaise et de langage fra1lfais, Paris, Geuthner-Gembloux, Duculot, now contains many new literary examples and a revised bibliography (rev. B. Hasselrot, SN, xxv, 210). Ch. Bruneau's L'epoque realiste has appeared as the xst part of Vol. XIII of F. Brunot's Histoire de Ia langue franfaise, Armand Colin. It covers the period 1852-86
