The book is a comprehensive output of the Muslim Chaplains research project, which was conducted at the Centre for the Study of Islam in the uk at Cardiff University (2008-2012).The book consists of eight chapters which focus on such issues as pastoral care in Islam, the people, politics and practice of Muslim chaplaincy and the impact of Muslim chaplaincy on religious diversity and pubic life, as well as a comparative note on the differences in pastoral care between Great Britain and the usa. The work focuses on Muslim chaplains as new religious actors in an established institutionalised “Christian” pastoral system in Britain.
