* During the period JuneDecember 2009 and the period JanuaryJune 2010, the Kingdom of Bahrain issued the following substantive legislation. LOCAL LEGISLATION 2009 Law No. (19) of 2009 Issuing the Family Law (Part 1) This extensive Family Law, consisting of 145 articles concerns the Sunni sect of Islam and regulates marriages, divorce, guardianship, custody of children and other Sharia matters relating to Sharia personal status. Having received the National Assembly's approval, the King ratified this Law on 27 May 2009 (Official Gazette No. 2898, dated 04 June 2009). 1.2 Law No. (30) of 2009, Concerning the Establishment of the Chamber for the Settlement of Disputes Concerning Economic, Financial and Investment Matters According to this Law, which was issued during the parliamentary recession, all economic, financial and investment disputes exceeding BD. 500,000 should be heard by this Chamber, instead of the Courts of Law.
