MEMOIR ANNA MASARYKOVÁ ABOUT THOMAS GARRIGUE MASARYK j,Editor'e note: The Thomas Garrigue Masaryk Conference, held in London in December, 1986, under the auspices of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies of the University of London, featured a closing panel on 16 December entitled "Masaryk the Man." Its members were persons who were related to Masaryk or knew him personally, or had intimate connections with individuals influential in Czechoslovakia's relations with Western countries. The panel was chaired by Dr. Christopher Seton-Watson, historian and younger son of Robert W. Seton-Watson. It included Miss Joan Stevenson, niece of H. Wickham Steed; Mrs. Sylvia F. Crane, widow of the late John Oliver Crane, formerly secretary to President Masaryk; and two of Masaryk's granddaughters, Mrs. Herberta Masarykova and Dr. Anna Masarykovi, both residents of Prague.
