Abstract

A new species of Yolina Guignot from Tanzania (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) OLOF BISTRÖM Yolina balfourbrownei sp. n. is described from Tanzania, based on two specimens (male and female), and the new species is compared with closely related species. O. Biström, Zoological Museum, Department of Entomology, N. Järnvägsg. 13, SF-00100 Helsingfors, Finland. Some time ago I received material of Bidessini and Hyphydrini for determination from the British Museum (Natural History). The material had al- ready been studied by Dr J. Many of the manuscript-species of Bal- four-Browne have been described during recent years based on other material. A new species of Yolina was found which obviously had been overlooked by Balfour-Browne, because the ma- terial of the new species was wrongly associated as paratypes of another manuscript-species, which was actually described as Y. baerti in the recently published revision of the genus by Bistrom (1983).
