No price mentioned (Paperback). ISBN 978-1-905679-01-0. Reed’s doctoral thesis from 1980 served as a foundation for this publication which is number 31 in the Journal of Pentecostal Theology Supplement Series. Revision and expansion were done mostly regarding the early roots of the movement. The sixteen chapters are divided into three sections, focusing on the legacy, the birth and the theology of Oneness Pentecostalism. New movements are characteristically born in the crucible of controversy. Many Pentecostal movement leaders were anti-institutional and anti-creedal, wary of the cold religiosity of main- stream denominationalism (105). Oneness Pentecostalism emerged in the second decade of the Pentecostal Revival in North America with a distinctive three-theme theological paradigm: Restorationist millenarianism; the “Full Gospel” (consisting of: salvation, sanctification, bap- tism in the Holy Spirit, healing, and the speedy return of Christ); and the “Finished work” soteriology (113).
