ISBN 0 7486 1532 6 (paperback), 208 pp. GBP 16.99. With New Age: A Guide , Daren Kemp has done everyone interested in the New Age phenomenon a great service. While even mature scholars in the fi eld will learn something from it, it is the student or young researcher who will fi nd it a veritable gold mine. For anyone embarking on research in this fi eld it is an indis- pensable fi rst step. This does not mean that the book is in any way super fi cial. It is, in fact, an insightful and comprehensive guide through a fi eld of study that is attracting an ever increasing number of scholars in di ff erent disciplines. Kemp begins his guide by providing an overview of de fi nitions (from insiders, Christians, and scholars) and shows that the type of de fi nition used for the pheno- menon is usually a Family Resemblance-type of de fi nition, where a one-to-many relationship is employed.
