Documentation Archives and Bibliography (Dab) 259 DOCUMENTATION ARCHIVES AND BIBLIOGRAPHY (DAB) Values and Prachce for Global Christian Information Sharing The following statements were produced at a Global Christian Documentation Forum convened by the Pew Charitable Trusts in Philadelphia in January 1993. Anumber of those attending the Forum have associations with DAB included Richard Fairhead of Global Mapping International, Doug Geyer of the American Theological Library Association, Joseph Patmury of Union Theological College, Bangalore, John Roxborogh of the IAMS- DAB Network, and Christopher Smith of the Pew Charitable Trusts. Chris Sugden of the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies drafted the Code of Practice as a short summary of values it was felt important to underline. John Bennett of the Overseas Council for Theological Education and Missions, Indiana, was Moderator of the Fonum and compiled the summary reflections. The sharing of information relative to the mission of the church involves obligations on those who obtain information and distribute it. During the Forum it was noted that,,The Western view that,freedom of information' is a self-evident value is not a universally held opinion.
