Thomas, General Editor Progress Report June 1987 The goal of the American Society of Missiology's Bibliography Project is to publish in . 1991 I or 1992 an annotated bibliography of books published from 1960 to 1990 in the - field of Missiology. In addition, it.will include an index of all major periodicals related - to the field of Missiology. It will be indexed by author, title, subject(s), and language of publication. It will include works in all the major European languages. It is expected that it will include 10,000 titles. Arrangements have been made for its publication in the ATLA (American Theological Library Association) Bibliography Series published by Scarecrow Press. The bibliography will emphasize the interdisciplinary nature of Missiology. It will assume mission on six continents. As the majority of Christians today are in mission in the Two-Thirds World of Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Oceania, the bibliography will give extensive coverage of the mission outreach of Christianity in those continents, including Third World theologies and the relation of Christianity to other faiths. The data base being developed on computer (IBM PCAT compatible) includes all an- notations in the Books Received and Selected Annotated Bibliography sections published quarterly since January 1986 in Missiology. At present there are 864 entries. During the next few months the entire U.S. Library of Congress catalogue of books on Missiology, 1960-87, will be added to the data base. An international team of twenty-two sub-editors assist in the selection and annotation of titles to be included, as well as with the Selected Annotated Bibliography being published quarterly in Missiology.
