Ghanaian feminist theologian Mercy Oduyoye deserves honor for her pioneering work on behalf of African women and women everywhere. Th is volume in the series “Women from the Margins” is ably edited by Phiri, who teaches African Th eology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, and Nadar, lecturer in the Hebrew Bible at the same uni- versity. Th e two editors helpfully bring together African women theologians and others to honor Oduyoye. Th e authors are members of the Circle of Concerned African Women Th eologians, founded by Oduyoye in 1989 so that African women could research and publish theologi- cal literature that would focus on religion and culture.
