Abstract
<jats:sec><jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The aim of this paper is to examine the role played by treaties in a diverse and diversifying international society. Through the course of the century, it has been suggested that treaties are the best means of law-making in the present world. It is argued here that while there are some advantages to treaty law-making, it does not seem that treaties are able to meet the demands sought to be placed upon them by those who believe in increased codification.</jats:p> </jats:sec>
