In the contemporary era, human rights documentation especially on developing countries has assumed increased significance. The momentousness o f human rights reporting reflects the growing vitality attached to literature that addresses the need for ameliorated conditions of human dignity the world over. The Yearbook on H u m a n Rights in Developing Countries is well established as an annual review of the state o f human rights in developing countries. It is published as a joint project among human rights institutes in Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Like its precursors, the 1994 edition of the Yearbook presents an interdisciplinary and integrated reporting of human rights conditions in developing countries.
