Editorial Note on State Practice Reporting

Editorial Note on State Practice Reporting Editorial Note on State Practice Reporting As readers will have noted, State Practice reports published in the Nordic Journal of International Law are not necessarily authored within and endorsed by ministries. Katarina Frunge’s report on Swedish state practice of 2003 (published in 74 NJIL 153) offered a f irst example of an alternative approach. It is based on the compilation and systematization of state practice by independent researchers writing in their personal capacity. The present issue carries two state reports along the same lines. As earlier, such reports are not subjected to anonymous peer review, as is the case with contributions published as “Articles” or pieces in the “Current Issues” section. Alongside state practice contributions by independent researchers, the Nordic Journal will continue to run reports authored within ministries. We trust our readers will appreciate the differences in style and representation implied in the two different approaches.
