Th e data were employed to develop short ten-item forms of the eight scales by means of which this instrument conceptualises religious maturity: awareness of God; acceptance of God’s grace and steadfast love; being repentant and responsible; knowing God’s leadership and direction; involvement in organised religion; experiencing fellowship; being ethical; and affirming openness in faith. Th e short scales are commended for further application and examination on the grounds that they are more reliable than the longer instruments, less burdensome to complete, and a more ade- quate operationalisation of the underlying constructs.
