Horton is a modest man and probably feels a bit self-conscious about this pub- lication, but it is appropriate that his biography be published while the two or three gen- erations of his former students are still around to give honor to whom honor is due. Dr. Horton taught at Central Bible College (CBC) for thirty years and the Assemblies of God Graduate School (now Theological Seminary) for an additional thirteen years, but the lectern was not his forte, nor was the pulpit. When he spoke, people listened because he led a life of quiet, humble service that demanded respect. But he was at his best at his typewriter. He turned the printing press into his pulpit. Like Luther, Horton knew that ink travelled farther and lasted longer than the human voice.
