Juli 1951) gelockert: "More generally, in early 1957 two thirds of Jordan's population was actually or potentially opposed to the royal authority and to the maintenance of government under the terms of the existing constitution (1.1. 1952), or even to the pre- servation of the state itself" (S. 72). Die Richtigkeit dieser Worte hat die Julikrise 1958 bestatigt, in der Huseins wankender Thron nur durch britische Truppen gehalten werden konnte.
