Bonhoeffer’s thought and writings retain a relevance and connection that is irresist- ible to many people, yet much of his work remained unfinished. The attraction lies in the connectedness between his theology and his faith in action. While the overall number of publications on Bonhoeffer has become enormous, as an introductory vol- ume this book stands out. Dramm utilizes mainly current and readily available litera- ture to enable the reader to use this book as an avenue into Bonhoeffer’s theology and wider thinking. The book is accessible and written in language that opens Bonhoeffer’s thinking to a wide readership. As Dramm states: ‘Understanding him [Bonhoeffer] is both easy and difficult at the same time. . . . for him theology was . . . the dimension through which he understood the world and wanted to make the world understandable’ (p. 1).
