THE OCCURRENCE OF LIMNORIA INDICA BECKER & KAMPF (ISOPODA) ON THE EASTERN COAST OF AUSTRALIA BY L. J. COOKSON CSIRO Division of Chemical and Wood Technology. P.O. Wood-boring Limnoria are common around much of Australia's coastline (Anon., 1972). However, little is known about which species ofLimnoria are in- volved or their distribution. Limnoria tripunctata Menzies was identified from Pinus sylvestris L. sapwood which had been submerged at Goat Island, Sydney (Jones et al., 1972). Recently, L. quadripunctata Holthuis has been identified from Hobart, Tasmania, and Sydney, New South Wales (Barnacle et al., in prep.). Several early Australian publications (e.g., Hale, 1929; Iredale et al., 1932) referred to L. lignorum
