This study examined the growth and reproduction of M. dalei captured off the west coast from 1997 to 1999. In this region, the species produces one cohort per year, with ovaries ripening from July to August. The mean gonadosomatic index (GSI) reached a maximum value between July and August. The smallest mature female found was 11.0 mm in carapace length (CL). Size at 50% sexual maturity (CL 50 ) , determined from mature females was 12.1 mm CL.
