SEH News SEH News Third World Congress of Herpetology Ü8 ! j THIRD WORLD CONGRESS h I OF HERPETOLOGY PRAGUE, 2-10 August 1997 The Third World Congress of Herpetology will be held 2-10 August 1997 in Prague, Czech Republic, and includes also the 9th Business Meeting of the Societas Europaea Herpetologica. It will be hosted by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the Czech Herpetological Society. Its scope will cover all fields of neo- and paleoherpetology, including such current problems as conservation of amphibians and reptiles or biology of dinosaurs. It is the organisers' intention to provide a free forum for all, whether they study contemporary taxa or fossils. The programme will consist of six plenary lectures in which the principal criterion is innovative, provocative, non-conforming, and thus stimulative research, and 720 talks arranged in concurrent symposia running in ten parallel sections. Also scheduled are two poster exhibitions with 400 posters each, both of them concluded with a poster session. The programme will be divided into two parts by one day of professional field excursions.
