Garrett Smith is at the forefront of the recent renewal of interest in the works of Petrus Thomae, a Franciscan who probably studied theology at Paris before teaching at his order’s intellectually productive convent in Barcelona, where he was quite prolific in philosophy and theology in the 1320s (see p. xiii). After M.R. Hooper and E. Buytaert published Peter’s Quodlibet in 1957, three decades passed before a few questions were edited from his Reportatio on the Sentences and Quaestiones de ente . In 2002 E.P. Bos published the Quaestiones de unitate minori and in 2011 C.L. Alcalde and J. Batalla brought out what they call the Tractatus brevis de modis distinctionum , previously transcribed by Bos in 2000. Smith now announces (p. vii) the complete edition of the Reportatio and QQ. de ente , the re-edition of the QQ. de unitate minori and the so-called Tractatus brevis , and the edition of two other works: the Quaestiones de modis distinctionum (not identical to
