David Sedley discusses Lucretius’ use of Epicurus’ On Nature and attempts to reconstruct Lucretius’ method of working in writing the DRN . Graziano Arrighetti focuses on how the DRN as a didactic poem Ž ts into the Epicurean tradition, despite this tra- dition’s alleged hostility towards poetry. Tiziano Dorandi discusses the presence of Epicurean circles in the area around the Bay of Napels in the Ž rst century BC, whereas Knut Kleve explores the possibility that Lucretius was acquainted with these circles, in particular with Philodemus.
