Book Review BOOK REVIEW D. J. HUNT: Aphelenchida, Longidoridae and Trichodoridae: their systematics and bionomics. CAB Interna- tional, Wallingford, UK, 1993. xx + 352 pp. Price £ 49.95. ISBN 0-85198-7589-3. In the Preface the author states that this book "was billed as a sequel to M. R. Siddiqi's Tylenchida, Parasites of Plants and Insects. An awesome thought!". However, Dr Hunt has succeeded in produc- ing a worthy companion volume to Dr Siddiqi's book and in a style which is the author's own. This book may also be compared, in part, with that by M. S. Jairajpuri and W. Ahmad, Dorylaimida Freeliving, Predaceous and Plant-parasitic Nematodes (Nematologica 39, 415-416 ( 1993) ) which included the virus-vector genera. The publication, in such a short space of time, of two books dealing with these genera is a reflection of the resurgence of interest in these nematodes. However, Dr Hunt's treatise provides much useful bionomic information, absent from the earlier book by Jairajpuri and Ahmad, and thus is more useful and pertinent to most researchers interested in, or actively working with, these nematodes. Dr Hunt begins his book by providing a useful although brief "Glossary of some Nomenclatorial Terms".
