We obtained a 12.8 centimeter (cm) body and antennae length, 9.0 cm body length, 4.0 cm carapace length, Caribbean furry lobster, Palinurellus gundlachi (Von Martens, 1881), which had been regurgitated by a 35.6 cm total length red hind, Epinephelus guttatus (Linnaeus, 1758), taken from a fish trap placed at a depth of 18-20 m off La Parguera, Puerto Rico, 16 November 2002 (fig. 1). This rather rare, cryptic species generally occurs from the southeast coast of Florida, through the Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, throughout the Lesser Antilles, and Yucatán (Manning, 1977; Abele & Kim, 1986; Holthuis, 1991); Costa Rica (Vargas & Cortés, 1999) the Dominican Republic (Bonnelly de Calventi, 1982), St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands (Colin et al., 1978), Suriname and French Guiana
