Invitation to Contribute LOGOS 262 LOGOS 20/1-4 © 2009 LOGOS INVITATION TO CONTRIBUTE We are happy to inform you that a Festschrift is being planned in honour of Gordon Graham as a token of ap- preciation of his contribution to the publishing profession. As the founder of Logos , and its editor (1990-2005) and editor emeritus (2006–2008), he con- tinually strived to maintain the highest professional standards while boldly and courageously voicing his concerns and views on publishing issues. With his simplicity, easy accessibility and ever- helpful attitude, he endeared himself to both colleagues and friends. Being honoured with a Festschrift on the occasion of having completed ninety years of life is perhaps a doubtful pleasure for somebody who still feels like thirty-something, and who sees numbers as indicators only of material change. In Europe, however, it is a time- honoured tradition to celebrate the life and work of a distinguished scholar or professional with a Festschrift or Liber Amicorum. This ritual in recognition of achievements and competencies permits all those who accompanied the laureate for some part of the way to pay tribute to him as friend and colleague.
