It is in fact unknown how the final destruc tion of erythrocytes sensitized by anticorpal proteins takes place, though the hypothesis according to which spherocytosis and in crease of osmotic fragility can be considered as foresigns, would be justifiable. Such findings might signify the metabolic disturbance of the erythrocyte and contribute to determine the excess of auto haemolysis “in vitro” (19), partially correctable by adding glucose or nucleosides to the incubation media (19, 8).
