It is in fact unknown how the final destruc­ tion of erythrocytes sensitized by anticorpal proteins takes place, though the hypothesis according to which spherocytosis and in­ crease of osmotic fragility can be considered as foresigns, would be justifiable. Such findings might signify the metabolic disturbance of the erythrocyte and contribute to determine the excess of auto­ haemolysis “in vitro” (19), partially correctable by adding glucose or nucleosides to the incubation media (19, 8).
