T he authors stress the importance of distinguishing between hemophilia-like disease (prolonged clotting time and presence of a circulating anticoagulant) and hemophilia complicated by the development of an anticoagulant, following blood transfusion. Two cases with circulating anticoagulants are reported. In one case the anticoagulant was dialyzable and present for a short period of time only. In the second case the presence of hemophilia-like disease or hemophilia plus the anticoagulant was not proved.
