The Polish economy is undergoing substantial transformation which is mostly called transition from a planned to a market economy. It is said there are two main goals to be fulfilled firstly, the increase of a global efficiency secondly, the spread of proper, democratic industrial relations. One can put forward a thesis that these goals are interrelated and this thesis will be examined in the paper. With respect to the first goal liberalisation, as well as privatisation, are to be stressed.
