UK CORROSION '87

UK CORROSION '87 The Conference attracted 408 delegates from the UK and abroad. The largest percentage of overseas visitors in the event's history was recorded. 70 papers were presented covering all aspects of corrosion prevention during the three days. The exhibition which complemented the conference comprised more than 70 stands and was regarded by most of the visitors as the best display of anit-corrosion products and services ever seen in the UK. Unfortunately the attendance seemed to be low. In-between seminars a tide of delegates flooded into the exhibition, then like the sea along the Brighton front outside, they receded back t o their conference places leaving the exhibitors to talk to one another until the next conference break. If the exhibition side of UK Corrosion is to become the success it deserves to be, more effort must be made to attract a wider range of visitors. The companies exhibiting need to promote their products and services to those industries which have corrosion problems. Relying on the conference delegates to provide the attendance for the exhibition means you end up with one set of corrosion experts speaking to another set of corrosion experts, and there is little profit in that. 12 ANTI-CORROSION December 1987 http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials Emerald Publishing

Abstract

The Conference attracted 408 delegates from the UK and abroad. 12 ANTI-CORROSION December 1987
