UNITED STATES Resistance to iodine tincture. To test their suitability as containers for iodine solutions, the Hastelloys A, B and C, Stellite No. 6 and stainless steels 304, 316 and 317 were subjected to corrosion tests in iodine tincture U.S. Pat. XIV of the following composition iodine, 20 g. sodium iodide, 24 g. dilute alcohol 49 by volume, a sufficient quantity to make 1,000 cc. A static total immersion test was used, the rate of attack being calculated from the weight loss.
