Guest editorial Advances in Reliability and Operations Management This special issue of the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management entitled “Advances in Reliability and Operations Management” is primarily devoted to papers from the 3rd International Conference on Mathematical Techniques in Engineering Applications (ICMTEA2018), which was successfully held in collaboration with Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre, Dehradun on 7–8 December 2018. Also, this special issue was open to all over the world and got a very good response from the authors other than ICMTEA2018. Fifteen articles are accepted for publication in this special issue of the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management from ICMTEA2018 and the rest of the world. This special issue is focussed on reliability and operations management. Reliability analysis is one of the most fundamental attributes in quality metrics and receives considerable attention in all engineering and computer science fields. Also, operations management is the most useful solution for proactive reliability management. As of now, the performance of a product, system or a service is usually judged in terms of dependability, which can be called as an aggregate of one or more of the attributes of survivability, like reliability, quality, maintainability, etc. and the safety, of course, not overlooking the cost of physically realizing these characteristics. We would like to express our thanks to the authors for submitting their work and to the reviewers for their efficient work in evaluating the submissions. We are truly gratified by their excellent timely responses. Further, we would like to thank Professor Ton van der Wiele Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management for accepting this special issue and giving his full support from the very beginning.
