Abuse takes place in many different settings and takes many forms. The focus of this article is on those cases of abuse elder abuse that involve practitioners who are registered with the NMC and whose cases are dealt with by the Council’s Fitness to Practise panels. It is in the NHS important to acknowledge that whilst The fact that nursing is essentially a caring the NMC takes these cases very seriously, it is profession makes it hard to understand why arguably a case of too little too late: too little each year a number of nurses are found guilty because it is acknowledged that not all cases of by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) of abuse by registered nurses are identified and abusing older people. In this article Liz referred to the NMC, and too late because the McAnulty reports on what the NMC is doing to damage has already been done.
