Abstract

While PWB selling prices keep on decreasing at the average rate of 6 percent per year, the cost of advanced electrical testing is escalating in a dangerous way. Today, investing in a new test capacity has become one of the most strategic decision for a PCB manufacturer, and not only on the leading edge side. This paper will investigate what will be the impact of emerging test technologies on the cost of manufacturing tomorrow’s PWBs.
