Modelling for age and retirement becomesessential in many situations where promotion isagebased and retirement is on attaining a particularage. A step by step approach to modellingretirement and average age of population throughsystem dynamics is presented. The deterministicsituation, with fixed residence time, is presentedfirst and, then, the system equations are modifiedto accommodate probabilistic age of individuals bynormal distribution. The proposed model has beentested and a few policy alternatives are suggested.
