The interactive programme of the Forum includes clinical case discussions in the light of the latest ESC Guidelines as well as lectures on modern problems of cardiology. Leading Russian and European experts will present clinical cases and discuss the most challenging issues. The immediate ESC past-president Prof. Jeroen J. Bax (Netherlands), EHRA president-elect Prof. Christophe Leclercq (France), Prof. Michel Komajda (France), and other distinguished specialists will participate. This year the Forum has been endorsed by the European Society of Cardiology for the first time. The scientific programme of the meeting has been reviewed and endorsed by the ESC Education Committee. And the Forum has been added to the list of educational and scientific meetings supported by ESC. V R As usual, the meeting has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME ). So, every V R participant can obtain ECMEC s by attending the Forum. European external CME credits received in Russia will be totalled up with those received at the European meetings. Five reasons to participate: (1) Special opportunities for young cardiologists are offered at the Forum: from registration fee discounts to poster sessions. (2) A wide range of hot topics in cardiology will be discussed. Problems of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias, heart failure, as well as difficult clinical cases will be raised. Focus will be made on the latest ESC guidelines on arterial hyperten- sion, cardiovascular pathology in pregnancy, and myocardial revascularization. Also, Russian and foreign specialists will update the knowledge of the audience on imaging in cardiology, sutureless valves, and wireless pacemakers. (3) The Forum is reasonably priced. Discounts are provided for under 35-year-olds and groups of 20 persons or more. (4) Simultaneous Russian-English translation will be provided during all scientific sessions. (5) Saint-Petersburg has much to offer its visitors. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Saint-Petersburg has been recognized as Europe’s Leading Destination by the World Travel Awards on three occasions.
