In all, 40 patients were randomized to receive TIVA with remifentanil hy- drochloride and propofol, and 40 recieved VIMA with sevoflurane and nitrous oxide. The authors found that the occurrence of emergence agitation after nasal surgery under gen- eral anesthesia may be reduced by using TIVA rather than VIMA.
