Symptom Diagnosis

Symptom Diagnosis An article is included for just about every symptom and sign in medicine. Each is easy to find due to logical organization and complete indexing. Most articles open with a general discussion of the symptom. This includes material such as normal variants that help in deciding whether a finding is actually an abnormality. Next, all important diseases of which the symptom is a major manifestation are listed in boldface type. For each disease so listed special characteristics of the symptom, major associated signs and symptoms, and laboratory procedures to be performed are described. Actual laboratory results are not given. The less common diseases are listed without comment at the end of the article. There are 18 tables of differential diagnosis but no illustrations. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png JAMA American Medical Association
