MANAGEMENT OF THE SECUNDINES. One year ago, at the meeting of the American Medical Association in New Orleans, I read a paper in this Section on the "Treatment of the Membranes in Abortion and in Labor," but I do not offer an apology for reading another to-day. Authorities in medicine do not agree as to the management of the third stage of abortion or of labor, and the subject is being extensively discussed in this country and in Europe. At the meeting of the British Medical Association at Belfast, in 1885, it attracted the attention of distinguished physicians of England, who failed to agree in many respects as to the best mode of treatment. Felsenreich, in the January, 1886, number of the Wiener Klinik, and the great French obstetrician, Professor Pajot, in the February number of the Archives de Tocologie, wrote exhaustive papers on this subject, the former advocating and the latter opposing expectation. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png JAMA American Medical Association
