Anatomy, Descriptive and Surgical There is probably no work used so universally by physicians and medical students as this one. It is deserving of the confidence that they repose in it. If the present edition is compared with that issued ten years ago, one will readily see how much it has been improved in that time. Many pages have been added to the text, especially in those parts that treat of histology; and many new cuts have been introduced, and old ones modified. In the matter of illustration there is much room still for improvement. Many of the old cuts, illustrations of minute anatomy, are too much diagrammatic, and not sufficiently realistic. Another criticism upon them, also, is the failure to say just how much the specimens were magnified.
