Roentgen Diagnosis of the Vertebral Column, part 1, vol 6, of the Encyclopedia of Medical Radiology

Roentgen Diagnosis of the Vertebral Column, part 1, vol 6, of the Encyclopedia of Medical Radiology This article is only available in the PDF format. Download the PDF to view the article, as well as its associated figures and tables. Abstract This is another volume in a mammoth project that will eventually cover the whole field of radiology. Earlier volumes include the physical principles and techniques of radiology, radiation biology, and roentgen diagnostic procedures. Future volumes will include radiation therapy and nuclear medicine. Sporadic volumes are being issued to cover these subjects as well as all facets of diagnostic radiology. This is the first part of a multivolume series on the vertebral column. The first third of this volume includes chapters on the comparative anatomy, embryology, and development of the spine, as well as the radiographic anatomy, mobility, posture, and common congenital anomalies. Each of these chapters is well illustrated and informative, and an excellent bibliography is given at the end of each section. In this part of the book, I would particularly commend Zaunbauer's contribution on radiographic anatomy, which is not only well written but has beautiful radiographic examples.
