Carcinoma of the Ovary Metastatic to Breast: A Case Report and Review of the Literature Abstract Although first described over a century ago, invasion of the breast by malignancy primary elsewhere in the body is regarded as an unusual lesion. The cases reported in the literature number 41 at present, of which four have been primary in the ovary. The following report represents the fifth such case, and the first reported case of a secondary malignancy of the breast presenting clinically as an inflammatory carcinoma of the breast. Report of Case A 37-year-old gravida I para I white female was admitted to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for the first time on July 1, 1962, with an eight-week history of lower abdominal pain. Her past history was unremarkable except for dysmenorrhea over a number of years. On physical examination in the left lower quadrant of the abdomen a tender cystic mass appearing to originate from the pelvis was palpated. Pelvic examination revealed a tender References 1.
