Radiology of the Newborn and Young Infant

Radiology of the Newborn and Young Infant This article is only available in the PDF format. Download the PDF to view the article, as well as its associated figures and tables. Abstract Pediatric radiology has grown rapidly over the past several years, and a number of texts on the subject have evolved, both in the general and limited aspects of the specialty. Dr. Swischuk has contributed a previous text on heart disease, as well as additions to the pediatric radiology literature. This book is limited, in most instances, to radiology of the newborn, but does cover some things one might be more likely to encounter in a slightly older age group. The style of presentation permits the inclusion of a large number of entities of both common and uncommon nature. The chapters deal with specific organ systems and begin with a description of normal findings, normal variants, and artefacts that should be useful for the person with little experience in pediatric radiology. The common entities are well-covered in their radiological findings and, in some conditions, clinically and pathologically as well.
