Abstract This book is the proceedings of a symposium held in May 1973. It includes 27 papers, with the discussion of each, presented by a truly international group of researchers in the endocrinology of childhood malnutrition. The authors are from 11 different countries, in addition to the United States, including several each from Africa, Latin America, and South Asia. Virtually all groups active in this area of research are represented in the symposium, and the broad international representation has allowed full discussion of the differences in the clinical features of childhood malnutrition that are found in differing areas of the world. Of the 27 papers, 24 concern clinical studies and three concern work with experimental animals. As in other areas of endocrine and metabolic research, recent advances in assay methodology have led to rapid accumulation of new information on endocrine changes in malnutrition. Many of the papers in the symposium are http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png American Journal of Diseases of Children American Medical Association
