Abstract This is the eighth of a 23 volume Encyclopedia of Urology published by Springer-Verlag of Berlin and Heidelberg. Like all the previous volumes of the set which have already appeared, this book represents another example of superb printing and binding. The work is all in English and is written by 12 American authorities. It has 479 pages including an adequate subject index and an alphabetical list of the authors quoted in the text and bibliography. There are 348 illustrations, many of which are excellent drawings or photographs of patients and anatomic specimens. About one third are reproductions of radiographs, some negative, others positive, almost all of very good qua[ill]ty. The material is divided into ten sect[ill]ns. In section 1 (50 pages), J. A. Hutch and A. D. Amar give an authoritative and comprehensive review of the causes, effects, and treatment of "Vesicoureteral Reflux." Section 2, by F.
