INFANTILE OBESITY
Abstract
Lorenzi di Credi (1453-about 1535), the Tuscan painter, fellow student of Leonardi da Vinci under Andreas Verocchio, painted many Madonnas and Holy Families. One of the latter in the Dresden Picture Gallery shows a good example of infantile obesity. The increased number of folds in the skin due to the fat underneath are particularly well done.
