Brief-Tone Audiometry With Normal, Cochlear, and Eighth Nerve Tumor Patients

Brief-Tone Audiometry With Normal, Cochlear, and Eighth Nerve Tumor Patients Abstract Thresholds for 1,000- and 4,000-Hz tones ranging in duration from 10 to 200 msec were obtained from 33 persons with normal hearing, 40 with acoustic trauma, 42 persons with Meniere disease, and 32 subjects with confirmed eighth nerve tumor. Although median data suggested different threshold integration slopes across groups, consideration of individual data revealed overlap among groups. This overlap was sufficiently great so that no characteristic pattern of behavior defined any group. References 1.
