Fibrolipoma of the Cheek: A Case Report

Fibrolipoma of the Cheek: A Case Report Abstract A FIBROLIPOMA of the cheek is a neoplasm rarely encountered in children. The purpose of this paper is to report an unusually large tumor of this type in a very young child. Report of a Case A 3-year-old Korean girl was brought into the Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic because of a progressive swelling of the right side of her face.According to her father the patient was "stung" by an insect on the right side of her face at three weeks of age and since then had had a slowly progressive swelling that now involved all of her right cheek. It had never drained, seemed inflamed, nor been painful. Due to a language barrier, an accurate history of the lesion and the child's development and past medical history were difficult to obtain. Seemingly the child had been healthy all of her life and apparently had suffered no serious illnesses References 1. Thoma, K.: Oral Pathology , ed 5, St. Louis: C. V. Mosby Co., 1960, p 1163. 2.
