Abstract Fight for Sight, Inc, Awards 45 Scientists $400 000 for Vision Research. Fight for Sight, Inc, the research division of the National Society to Prevent Blindness, Schaumburg, Ill, has recently awarded 45 scientists nearly $400 000 to investigate a variety of topics related to the discovery, treatment, and possible cure of eye disorders and diseases. Of the 45 awards, Fight for Sight, Inc, will fund 12 investigations related to the retina and seven on the anterior segment. A total of 22 grants-in-aid, 12 postdoctoral fellowships, and 11 student fellowships were awarded for the period of 1993 to 1994. Grants-in-aid fund studies of priority interest for investigators who have received limited or no research funding. Postdoctoral research fellowships support individuals who are interested in academic careers involving basic or clinical research in vision-related sciences.
