Abstract • We adapted a 27-gauge, 0.75-in needle for the placement of iris fixation sutures. The needle requires neither the formation of a paracentesis nor a sclerotomy site. Additionally, the self-sealing nature of the needle tract eliminates the need for closure of the entry site. We have found this instrument to be helpful in the rapid, atraumatic placement of iris fixation sutures. References 1. Machemer R.
