Abstract The fact that only five years passed before the demand for the second edition of Ptosis by Beard required the publication of this third edition demonstrates the excellence and demand for this book. The third edition updates and expands the extensive experience by Beard with ptosis surgery. As with all editions of Ptosis, the book is extremely well organized and well written. The standard approaches to ptosis surgery are described with careful detail. The illustrations and pictures are excellent and complement the well-written text. This book provides a good basis for the anatomy, physiology, pathology, evaluation, classification, and surgical management of ptosis. I would recommend this book for all ophthalmologists with an interest in examination and treatment of patients with ptosis. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Ophthalmology American Medical Association
